President and CEO
2013 was a year of milestones for Visit Philadelphia. The organization in charge of promoting the city of brotherly love had a name change (shedding the formal Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing monicker), launched a mobile guide, and reached over ten million visitor with its website. For an old city, Visit Philly has new ideas about marketing itself. It backs an unconventional blog/guide called uwishunu.com and pulls in half of its website traffic via mobile. And Travel + Leisure lauded the organization’s social media efforts with a Smitty award this summer. It’s also still holding on to the “With Love XOXO” campaign that attempts to pull in regional visitors for romantic weekends.
Levitz began her career in tourism by organizing a marketing umbrella for Center City Philadelphia merchants before moving on to the board of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau. She’s been with Visit Philadelphia since 1996.
